The minister also visited the Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy temple at Mopidevi before holding a coordination meeting with Telugu Desam Party leaders and party workers in the village.
The new building adds to a string of school infrastructure projects the state government has been rolling out across Krishna district as part of a broader effort to upgrade government school facilities, an initiative Lokesh has prioritized since taking charge of the education portfolio. Avanigadda, a coastal constituency carved largely out of paddy and aquaculture belts along the Krishna delta, has seen several rounds of infrastructure announcements in recent months as the government works through a backlog of pending school building requests in the district.
Wednesday's coordination meeting with party workers points to the other half of why ministers make these district circuits: keeping the party organization active between election cycles. Krishna district, split into the Krishna and NTR districts in the 2022 reorganization, remains a closely watched political base for the TDP-led coalition, and local-level meetings like this one are typically used to take stock of welfare scheme rollout, pending development works, and grassroots feedback ahead of the next round of local body elections.
No announcements of new projects or funding came out of Wednesday's visit beyond the building inauguration, according to local reports, though such tours often serve as a preview of larger announcements timed to follow in subsequent weeks.
